Sondra Locke sued Eastwood for Palomone, a term that had entered the lexicon in 1977. She claimed he told their mutual friend Lily Zannick that Locke could either become a director or become Michelle Marvin and vowed to drag her ass through court until there's nothing left. A judge would claim that Locke couldn't have suffered emotional distress from her breakup because if she had, she wouldn't have been able to complete the film.
