The Bundle of Sticks
The bundle of sticks is getting at the notion that what property means in our culture is never absolute. It's not that you own some thing, it's that your relationship to that thing differs depending on whether we're interacting with each other. So for some purposes, I own the space. For other others, I don't. The rights are pretty amorphous when there's plenty of space between seats. But as we get closer together, those rights become more sharply contested and disaggregated.
