The legal situation in the United States is one whole can of worms. Emulation is a service project, right? Now, if you think about having all your disk images online, somebody in Germany can see, oh, Stanford has this title. It's an area that I just feel like there isn't a comfort zone yet on what can be done. The most common advice is along the lines of just go ahead and do it and don't tell anyone or something like that.
