I think having a naive view that people are quite good even though that may not always be justified you should try to cultivate in yourself. It's about setting your expectations aside and letting someone else or maybe just serendipity drive for a while. In order to truly put ourselves in the hands of others we must remove something from our hands. And that's the smartphone. This tiny but infinitely powerful object is essentially an anti risk-taking device. As you gaze at it even that small physical act throws up a kind of force field around you that says don't talk to me. Don't mess with me because I'm busy.
