The Challenges of Being a Deaf Parent
I was a child of deaf adults were called co-das. So I have deaf parents, both parents. As a hearing kid, you start to see the tension between this world that you grew up in and this world that's out there,. The world is expected to be in both and home eventually becomes this place where you're never fully comfortable. There's a natural sort of dynamic difference between whatever the world thinks of deafness or perceive how they perceive deafness or how they hear deafness. And you you internalize that inevitably.
