The Importance of Permanency in Life
I think I had an experience right around the time when I turned 20 that caused me to realize that permanency is a factor in life. The idea that there are things you can't turn back from, you could actually cause long-term damage to yourself. Men absent formation can kind of go along and get along without ever going to war against themselves. And so this is why every society through history has had some kind of set social expectations and rules for men because they need that extra push.
