The Secret Meaning of the 12 Days of Christmas
The 12 days of christmas are a kind of crypto catechism to teach the catholic faith during the age of persecution. The idea is that if you add up all the days mentioned in each verse, you get one gift for every day of the year until Christmas. So this really is not supported by the historical evidence. It's just a fanciful christmas song about one person giving gifts to another. Ah, this is, this is a pious legend that has no historical basis.
