The Importance of Imaging for Trauma Patients

To call for a consultation doesn't necessarily mean you need to transfer the patient. chest and pelvis X-ray are great screening tools to help identify or minimally exclude the source of bleeding. If you're at all concerned going ahead and binding the pelvis prophylactically before you get the X-ray, I'm okay with that. It doesn't take very long to go from the chest X-ray and just shooting a pelvis X.-ray, even if it is bound.
