The Tears of God
In greek tradition, eosa weeps over the death of her son. A zeus is moved by these tears and grants memnon immortality. Tears of eos are also associated with the morning dew. Weeping enters into this relationship when people at prayer hope that tears may motivate divine aid. In distress, the deity offers help, and divine absence provokes anxiety.
