What Are Exolotls?
An axolotl is a large salamander native to Lakezochumilco in Mexico City. Only about a thousand of them currently live in the wild, which means they're almost extinct. Exolotls are frequently used in scientific research and some people even keep them as pets. We wanted to learn more about these fascinating creatures so we virtually visited a lab at the University of Kentucky where scientists showed us row after row of tanks.
