Was It a Family Affair?
He was 34 when he became the White House Chief of Staff, which is quite something. He made a real effort to take Mary and me with him, especially on Saturday mornings going down to have breakfast with him in the White House mess. In those days, they had sort of three different television sets kind of built into the wall, as I remember. And then he and then he ran for Congress from Wyoming. Were you involved in those campaigns? Yeah, we did. Those were very much family affairs.
