In general, businesses are worse off if the current environment they're in does not accurately reflect the normal environment they'll be operating in in th future. A lot of times, companies react a lot to the current situation. And that's fine in very stable industries such as consumer products and things like that. But in other businesses, it's not so clear-cut. In banking, for instance, things that make sense now with your funding cost as that exist now could turn out to be bad later on.
