"I have always felt opposed to the mainstream teaching on how to live," he says. "A primate infant left alone in the dark of night is an infant that's about to be dead." He doesn't blame parents for letting their children cry it out, saying they're taught to do so. The idea that you put a kid alone in a dark room and just let him cry it out like I'm not blaming parents for this because that's what they've been taught to do has deep-seated psychological trauma.
