Theodoric's Italy

Theodoric's Goths absorbed, replaced or killed the Germans who had served under Odosse and began to settle down in Italy. We are told that the Goths took one-third of the Roman estates to be their new land. Theodoric was sensitive to the situation though. He knew that for his kingdom to last, he needed the cooperation of the Italians. So instead of just looking at a map and drawing lines all over it, he set up a commission to make a fair distribution,. At the head of the commission would be an Italian.
