The Importance of Being a Mariner
I found this every place I've ever gone, especially among working mariners. You were just another mariner and they saw you as an individual. A lot of times a lot of ports really didn't even know what to do with the yacht. And then I did feel a little fish out of water because the languages there are Arabic and French. But I met people there and I had contacts there and ultimately stayed there several years.
