Rowling's Children's Book
Joanne rowling wrote Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as a children's book. The first 12 publishers she sent it to rejected it, saying it was too dark for children. One publishing house called bloomsbury agreed to publish it after its daughter gave it to her father. She received an advance of two and a half thousand pounds - about five thousand uros in to day's money. But at the time this wasn't enough to support joanne who lived on benefits. It might seem ridiculous now, but it was very rare for children's authors to make enough money to support themselves.
