"I railed against who my parents were. I couldn't stand it," she says of her high school experience. "My dad eventually like once, once I got vampire diaries and moved to the States and had to drop out of college, that's when he was like, oh, okay, I see how this is a really, it's a popular show." She talks about growing up in New York City with an immigrant family after moving from Hungary as a child.
