State and local governments have obligations to take on and hold accountable those responsible for hate crimes. We know that not just the violence in charlotsville, but so much extremism has been planned on line. Social media companies need to be pressured into taking action against extreme sites. By being clear eyed about the threat and willing to use these tools, we can begin to break that cycle of extremism. But it's not something that any one entity can do on its own. I really thank you for laying that out so comprehensively.
