The Origins of Writing

The Lord of Colaba patted some clay and wrote the message as if on a tablet. So this Sumerian artifact tells us of the very first instance of writing. We do not find much in the way of evidence of writing before 5,000 years ago. The earliest forms of writing would have more likely referred to agricultural transactions than spiritual messages.
