Gavin Bamber: How can we translate the sound of the universe for deaf people to understand? The project was inspired by his friend Wanda Diaz, an astronomer and a computer scientist who's been blind since she was a teenager. She had her whole PhD thesis kind of showed that scientists, humans can become better listeners. And so I don't know, there's just this part of me that wants to look at the world like that. Do you know what I mean? Yes, yes, yes. It opens up a box that we don't even know we're in, you know how to see.
