The Pay Equity Issue
Jim Sherman: Pay equity is the practice of ensuring fair and equal pay practices to all employees for, regardless of gender, race, age, or other protected characteristics. Equal pay day was originated by the National Committee on Pay Equity in 1996 as a public awareness event to illustrate the gap between men's and women's wages. The wage gap is even greater for most women of color. Sherrilyn Ifill: There absolutely is still a pay gap that exists.
