The Library of Gilgamesh

Asherb Bonnepaul gathered texts for his library from institutional and private collections throughout the land. Scribes recopied most of them in carefully prepared editions, adding colofons in the name of the king. Even a conservative figure of 5000 holdings, the library is the largest to survive from the ancient world. And what's astonishing is just the sheer number of tablets that we have gotten from this area.
