Is There a Difference Between Assimilation and Accommodation?

David mc grany: All mind changes through these two mechanisms. Assimilation is to disabiguate novel information by fitting it into your existing model in some way. Accommodation is so many anomalies have formed that you can't contend with them, and the model has to fit them in. And that's the other way we tend to change. One way is change, but the change isn't that your model's getting more robust. So it is different than it was before, but you've just interpreted this new thing like evolution.
