Is There a Future Where the Brain Can Control Machines?
Most of the systems currently allow the brain to control machines, but is there a future where it maybe goes the other way? And you can use machines to feedback pressure, touch or sensation that the brain will understand? Yeah, sure. So for many, many years, we've already been doing that using peripheral nerve. Now, what you're asking about is, can we then expand this to other senses as well, like touch? A lot of my work has been involving the motor cortex and motor control. directly behind the motor cortex is the somatic sensory cortex that deals with this touch sensation.
