Last year, for the first time in the history of this republic, the population of the united states shrank. The country is more ideologically polarized than it was 20 or forty years ago. Even talk of civil war slowing economic growth over the last couple of decades. We're more likely to hate and fear members of the rival party. More likely to sort ourselves into idiologically homogeneous communities. Less likely to be sceptical about our own public institutions.More likely to hold conspiratorial beliefs.
