A single sound inventory could be used in radically different ways to produce radically different sounding languages Yeah And I don't know if this is as true as it used to be But I think very often beginning conlangers fall down here They may not be very systematic about syllable shapes and word shapes So you get kind of strange things happening and that can cause you deep agonies down the line once you start getting into morphology.
