Early one morning while commuting on a busy highway to work, Scott happened upon a Tim Ferriss podcast interview with Mr. Money Mustache on the topic of financial independence and retiring early (FIRE). He was so electrified by the concept that he and his wife could actually quit the rat race and create a life on their own terms, that he knew he would have to learn everything he could about it. His experience as a filmmaker enabled him to document their journey in the film + the book "Playing with Fire" and empower others to do it too.
