Is There a Trade-Off Between Performance and Usability?

Python's closure approach is just to say, look, we're not going to bother like trying to chase after that last bit of performance. And so I was looking for that reflexively in Python thinking, Oh, that's what I would want to go for for performance. So this gets into an interesting, I don't know, I guess the difference between certain languages. Like if you make a rock record literal, which is like curly braces, anonymous, you know, it looks just like a JavaScript object literal.
