The Banking Crisis

A bank opens its doors to the public and takes deposits from customers. A banking crisis can take one of two forms: a liquidity crisis or a solvency crisis. Liquidity is the word we use to describe the ability to turn assets into usable cash money. If your biggest asset is a house, you can't sell it for cash by the end of the week. You have a liquidity problem.
