Introduction
The book of the prophet daniel divides into two natural parts. The first six chapters are historical narrative, and the second six chapters are ic visions. It's the third year of the reign of jehoiakin, king of judah. northern kingdom of israel fell to the neo assyrians in seven, 22 b c. Over a hundred years later, the southern kingdom is still there, but on account of its faithfulness, is ripe for judgment. If one were identified as the great turning point it would be at this time that some regional geo-political power had been decisively turned around.
