The Meta Realism of Language
There's a long history of trying to do a philosophy of language that brackets out the world. In other kind of postmodern semiotic framings, like the world isn't really even part of the semiotic equation. And so then you kind of get these sort of weird conclusions. But I also am rejecting a thread within analytic philosophy which sees reference as basically the only real source of meaning where the only thing that happens is pure reference.
