The Passenger: A Powerful Book

The passenger severely disrupted my ranking when I when I first read it. It's hard to read the book without being appalled in a kind of universal way about this species and that's something that is too often ignored in popular culture and in art generally so for me that's part of um why it's my favorite book. Casablanca comes from a director who didn't always make great movies but you know Michael Curtis wasn't always great with the cinematography or cinematography  so you really see it in that part of the film but you're expecting and you love it for the comfort, says McCarthy.
