The Washington Declaration Reaffirms South Korea's Nonproliferation Commitments

The Washington Declaration includes a pretty uncontroversial restatement of South Korea's nonproliferation commitments. Some South Koreans are interpreting this as Yun effectively selling out and agreeing not to build nuclear weapons in order to receive these new assurances that don't actually include any forward deployed nuclear weapons. So the bigger picture here is this is a temporary solution for the problem realized it's having, right? Things will get worse with North Korea, the North Koreans will do a nuclear test and we'll be right back where we started where demands for nuclear weapons will go back up.
