There's definitely a sense that AI is like the idea of the day, and so people are pointing to it for different reasons. Some CEOs over hired at the beginning of the pandemic when it looked like tech was going to have this boom times. Now they're seeing that boom time is not around and they're going to lay people off. It may also be a real thing that companies are investing more energy into it.
