The Importance of Early Evaluation for Pediatric Burn Injuries

The most common burn injury in kids by far is scald injuries and those tend to happen in younger kids up to about age 10. In the adult population, flame burns are by far more common. Start your resuscitation off at 125 milliliters per hour for a child less than six years old. For an older kid 6 to 14, you can do your evaluation for trauma, your ABCBEs or your ERBEs early on.
