The Judiciary Selection Committee in Israel
The Israeli Supreme Court is two different institutions. It's the same 15 justices and the same building in Jerusalem, but the actually function is two completely different institutions. Once you get to the court, people tend to turn out to be more activist than not because the court's activism isn't accidental. A year it is a court of direct appeal which hears thousands of cases. For example, Palestinians routinely appeal to this court of equity against some branch, army or police department.
