The Fourth Quadrant

The character is unconscious in the first half of a story. Their responses and procedures are all what they've always done before, their habitual programming. The big moment of revelation and awakening to the new self is at the end of the third quadrant right after all is lost. It's like when you break everything apart, something amazing can emerge that is stronger than sume of its parts.
