The lieutenant has an out for aster because it's like very i don't know if lightly is the word because it's kind of strongly implied but only like one time. It's implied that the lieutenant has some kind of thing for Theo and is jealous of anybody else who is close to Theo so the lieutenant has this like specific hatred of aster that drives a lot of the action in the book. That movies plot and that also brings the like interrogation of antebellum south like what can we build in this place that was bad and we go back there and build a thing that is good for us or not let alone the fact that they're still on this ship that functions like the antebellum
