Nietzsche rejects Schopenhauer's like skepticism or phenomenon, numeral split. He says the whole world of organic functions is just this world of feelings. What he's getting at which I think is going to be very clear as we approach the end of the passage: rather than a physical mechanistic universe, he makes reference to that a materialistic mechanistic universe.
