The Importance of Online Relationships
One of my PhD topics was looking at the kind of social factors surrounding paying online games. And a couple of things that came out of that were just that people sometimes valued their game relationships more than their offline relationships. Also, people felt like the anonymity or at least the kind of computer-based format of the communication meant that they could talk a bit more about sensitive topics. They could admit things that maybe they're perfect to shy to in outside situations. So I think there's a potential for them to be equipment, it's a potentialfor them to be even more valuable for some people.
