The History of the Jewish Community in Jerusalem

In 1187, the Sultan of Cairo, Sultan Saladin. He comes to Jerusalem and he captures the city from the Christians. And that, of course, Kitzdahr is another crusade which fails. There's a trend of 700 years of Jerusalem trading hands between the Muslims and the Christians. During this time, Jewish Jerusalem sees its rebirth. Synagogues are being built. The Jewish community of Jerusalem swelled. In 1746, Rabbi Gerstron Kitov, the brother-in-law of the Balshempto, establishes the first Hasidic community in Israel and in the city.
