I worry about Steve a little bit. It sounds like he's brought a lot of value to this company and he's been very loyal, but it's unclear where he fits into this whole plan. This should be pretty straightforward if they can get it all squared away legally. There might actually be no way to negotiate this succession without major family drama. But getting the details squared away on paper and then getting buy in from the whole family in advance will really help.
