The Foresight Institute Podcast

CHAPTER

Is There a Market for Replicatable Research?

It would be very duable just to ask the authors themselves to list in the abstract of every paper, as a rule, what percentage probability they think is that they will replicate. Another thing that we've thought about, and we haven't quite tried to implement, is a, you know, a prediction system on citations of a given paper. If i'm going to read the archives and there are papers that are predicted, no, i'll read it a week later. It's not replication and it's got all kinds of problems, because citations do too. But it's information that people would actually use, i think, in in deciding what papers do be attend.
