This Means War looks at how wars are being fought around the world today and what this might mean for the future. We're recording this on 28 April 2023 in the midst of an evacuation of foreign nationals from Sudan - less than two years after Afghanistan withdrawal. These operations are generally called non-combatant evacuation operations (anyos) They can be very complex, often conducted at short notice,. they rely on well-established processes, plans and arrangements that are owned by local diplomatic and embassy staff.
