I lost insane amounts of money in the past year because of the portfolio going down. I got smacked hard because of that exact thing. Like I don't know anyone who sold everything at the top. No one does that. If you were to spend from principal, it's only if it's literally like a solid investment. It has to be like a business idea where the purpose is to make more. But if I go spend, let's say I want to buy a watch or I want to buying a car or something, I would only buy with my profits.
