At night time, our mouth actually reduces saliva production. So then we have increased acid production at night and less saliva to neutralize it. And that's one reason why people eat too late at night. There is a different circadian rhythm starting from the brain that produces growth hormone in the first couple of hours of our sleep. Although we are not growing after reaching adulthood in size or height, but actually we are replacing many of our stomach lining and many other cells throughout the body. That happens only at night time. We should organize our day around these clocks.
