There's so we mentioned before that a lot of ASL speakers are going to be bilingual in whatever the dominant spoken languages around. So those are bimodal bilinguals. And there might be an issue of like the social environment, depending on like how big the deaf community is in an area,. And how what proportion of the population they are. If you have a smaller population of deaf people, then there's going to be a whole lot of monolingual or at least monomodal people who do not sign.
