Gaelic - The Origin of the Irish Language
When Roman missionaries first came to Ireland from Britain in the 5th century, they brought a mangled version of the Latin language with them. For the first time in recorded European history, the local people made a defense of their own language and alphabet over the Roman one. According to the defenders of the Irish language and its alphabet, the Oum, Gaelic wasn't just superior to Latin, it was the perfect language.
