The Importance of God's Promises in the New Testament
The destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 is an event of epochal significance in New Testament theology. We should resist notions of a dual covenant, the idea that Israel has its own track and the Gentiles have theirs - there is only one olive tree. This is the truth that we see in Romans 15 verse 27 and Ephesians 2 verses 11-22. The troubling questions of God's justice and narrative continuity that Paul wrestles with are greatly exacerbated by simplistically supersessionist positions.
