The Contemplative End of Man
i think that a lot of modern means of, you knont, like music and entertainment, movies, whatever, can undermine in kind of subtle ways. So yet, why? Well, because contemplation, you know, for us as human beings, it requires sustained attention. It requires a habit which the christian tradition refers to as recollection. We need to be always directing our gaze back to god - recovering this godward gaze which we lost with original sin. And i find that these forms of entertainment are trying to get me as an embodied spirit,. That's a real feature ofo human lives.
